Couples Photography in Style

Love is all around when it comes to Valentine’s. Cuddling couples on advertising posters, hearts here and there, you cannot escape it. Let’s join in! Because don’t you want to photograph those cuddling couples on the posters too? Do you shoot portraits? Then you may have had moments where things aren’t running as smoothly as you’d like. Photographing people isn’t always easy. Here we give you tips to make portraits of couples a success!

Tip 1: Put People at Ease

Perhaps this is your most important task as a photographer: to put people at ease. Only when your model is relaxed, you get to capture those beautiful moments. For many people, having your photo taken is a scary thing. Also the people who volunteer for it. People are very critical of photos if they themselves are the subject. “Oh yuck, my nose really isn’t pretty in that corner!” or “Oh, now you can see that crooked tooth very well!” are therefore common comments. People are often at their best when they feel comfortable. How do you get that done?

  •  Make everything negotiableTell your models what exactly your plans are, how you want to approach the shoot. Be sure to leave room for the models’ ideas. The photo shoot is a collaboration between all attendees. Everyone is at their best only with good cooperation.
